“The Beach Path” One of my brothers has a small “shack” near the beach on the Cape and this little path takes you to the bay where he had his boat. I love the way someone threw a bunch of wildflower seeds at some point over the past few years and they really took hold.

“Cosmos & Black-Eyed Susans” is one of my largest oil & enamel paintings so far as I am confined to nothing wider than 48” when I am picking up canvases as the local art store. (The length constraint is 72”, but that is only if I wish to drive my SUV with the steering wheel pressed up against my chest.) The image used as an idea for this painting came when my wife and I were visiting some friends’ home for a fund-raising party. One of the couple is a very accomplished landscape architect and his

“Anemone Frenzy” is one of my favorite Oil & Enamel paintings because of the feeling I have that I could just get delightfully tangled up in all of that activity and color. I hope you can see the freedom of dripping various streaks of color for the stems and grasses, combined with “punching in” some objects that look like they could be anemones. This combination of dripping color with paint sticks, and punching in color with a palette knife, is my example of what I call “Abstract Impressionism”.

“Late Afternoon” I have probably completed 30 or more paintings of this beautiful little Poverty Hollow area just beyond the Newtown/Redding town line and this scene was captured in late afternoon when the shadows were becoming quite long.

“Les Baux de Provence” I completed this small painting on location when visiting several towns in Provence with my buddy Frank Federico. I later came back to this, and to several other painting locations with a group of artists

“Etretat Cliffs” This painting came from a wonderful painting trip I took to the Normandy coast. I stayed at an artist friend’s home in Hautot St. Sulpice, along with 7-8 other artists from various countries (Poland, Spain, Portugal and different parts of France). Dinners were as much fun as the painting because I reveled in sitting at a table of 12-14 artists, speaking 4-5 languages at once.
